Hello, I am an integrative counsellor with over 11 years of experience supporting individuals across various age groups. From adults navigating life's challenges to young people finding their way, I've been there, offering a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to their unique needs. Equipped with a Diploma in Clinical Supervision trained by Sue Pattison, my mission is to create a safe, open, and encouraging space for supervision. I believe in fostering mutual trust and respect, where both my supervisees and I can grow and learn from each other. Whether it's exploring new techniques, reflecting on challenging cases, or simply sharing experiences, I'm here to support your journey towards becoming the best counsellor you can be.
My Vision as a Supervisor
Reflecting on my journey, I realize that my 11 years of experience have afforded me a wealth of knowledge. This includes working with diverse client groups—adults, young adults, and children—in various settings such as private practice, charitable organizations, and schools. Additionally, I've adapted to different modalities, including face-to-face, telephone, and online counselling.
As a supervisor, my aim is to foster a supportive environment for another counsellor’s professional journey. Entering this path, it is crucial to set clear intentions. My goal is not just to guide but to empower and inspire those under my supervision. I strive to create a space where open communication and trust thrive, laying the foundation for a collaborative learning experience.
Drawing upon my own experiences as a counsellor, I recognize the importance of having a good supervisor who has a profound understanding of the profession. Therefore, I am committed to continuous professional development, consistently expanding my knowledge of the latest theories, techniques, and ethical considerations. This commitment is not only a professional responsibility but also a dedication to providing the best supervision possible.
As I embark on this new role, I anticipate a learning curve. Every session and interaction will be an opportunity for growth. Acknowledging this inherent learning process, I will remain humble and open to feedback, recognizing that my journey as a supervisor is as dynamic as the field itself.
I have clear expectations of what I want from my supervision, which has helped me decide who I want to be as a supervisor and channel those values. I understand that different counsellors will have different expectations and requirements, and I'm happy to adjust and learn as I go. However, I am committed to providing a safe, open, and encouraging space built on mutual trust to foster growth equally in both me and my supervisees
By sharing these reflections and intentions, I hope to convey my dedication and ability as a supervisor. My approach is rooted in the belief that effective supervision is a mutual journey of growth and learning, where both parties can thrive and develop.
